Financial Impact
Video clip: Liz explains why she needed to move home after her bi-lateral below knee amputation and the knock-on effects of that decision.
We were sort of planning to move house, but I could not have returned to our house, because it had two flights of stairs. Even if [getting] the prosthetic had moved faster, I never would have been able to go back there. So we were forced to move faster. [But] our housing options became suddenly very limited. [We] had to have a single level place, really. We could have gone otherwise with that, but it was going to be easier to have a single level building. Which meant that we had to move out of Oxford. So, and we've now become car-dependent, whereas we were cyclists before. It's been a total lifestyle change. So, yeah. There's been huge financial implications.
