Women in Science

Video clip: Priyanka explains the importance of her department's Women in Engineering Network that arose out of Athena Swan initiative.

Do you think it's made any difference to women in your department?

Athena SWAN? I would say yes because the Women in Engineering Network was actually one of the action plan items from the last Athena SWAN application put forth by the department so it's made a huge impact to how women across the department connect with each other and how they can get involved with making a difference and also raising issues that that we think are important because everything that we do in terms of activities and events is funded by, directly by the department and we have a kind of close relationship with the HR Personnel and Department so any kind of issues that need to be raised we can sort of do it directly. So I think it has made a huge difference.
